Decision at Sweetwater (23 April 1961): The stagecoach on which Johnny is a passenger is held up by robbers, who kidnap a young woman when the gold they are looking for is not found. Helping Hand (30 April 1961): Johnny comes to a watering hole looking for a drink but gets caught in the middle of a family feud instead. Guest stars: Leif Erickson, Jack Elam, Eddie Ryder. The Uncourageous (7 May 1961): On a round-up in Mexico, Johnny accidentally shoots the son of a famous matador and learns he is in disfavor with his family for not living up to his father's bravery. Mission: Varina (14 May 1961): After the War Between the States, Jefferson Davis is released from prison and his wife Varina asks Johnny and another ex-Confederate soldier to escort him to Richmond. The Calley Kid (21 May 1961): Bushwacked on a trail, Johnny awakens to find his horse, guns, and personal belongings missing and sets out after the outlaw who took them. Guest stars: Richard Bakalyan, Michael Vanderver. Volume Thirteen Ben White (28 May 1961): Johnny is deputized by a U.S. Marshal to take a girl to jail, but she is not about to cooperate. Guest stars: Mary Murphy, Charles Aidman, Bruno Ve Sota, William Henry. The Found (4 June 1961): Johnny comes upon a young woman who is alone and about to give birth. After he helps deliver the baby, he finds himself held at gunpoint by the child's father. Guest stars: Peggy Campbell, Karl Held, George Sawaya. The Hostage (11 June 1961): The brother of a sentenced murderer has kidnapped the Sheriff's brother and demands an exchange, but when the widow of the victim kills the prisoner, Johnny must impersonate him.
