Greg and Lisa Durand

Who We Are

The Confederate Reprint Company is a home business of Greg and Lisa Durand. We live in the beautiful Appalachian foothills of north Georgia with our seven children: Brianna Marie, Virginia Ruth, Georgia Esther, Robert Lee, Carolina Rachel, Thomas Jackson, and Bonnie Elisabeth. Greg is originally from Los Angeles, California and first came to an understanding of the Southern perspective on American history in 1995 while reading The Real Lincoln by Charles L.C. Minor and A Defense of Virginia and the South by Robert Lewis Dabney. After several years of research, he wrote America's Caesar: The Decline and Fall of Republican Government in the United States of America, the fourth edition of which was published by The Institute For Southern Historical Review in 2006 (click HERE to access Greg's Facebook page). Lisa was born in Denver, Colorado and spent several of her childhood years in Slidell, Louisiana. She has several Confederate ancestors on the maternal side of her family tree. Greg and Lisa also own Crown Rights Book Company, Goose Quill Press, and Classic Reels and Broadcasts Company.

What We Do

The Confederate Reprint Company specializes in providing primary source research material relating to the Antebellum, War Between the States, and Reconstruction periods of American history. Our books are printed on a Kodak Image Source 110 machine and bound on a Standard Bind Fast 5 system. The work of The Confederate Reprint Company began in 1997, at which time our historical publications were combined with the theological titles published under the Crown Rights Book Company name. Each year after that, our history inventory continued to expand until it became apparent in 2004 that a separate company was needed. The Confederate Reprint Company now offers the largest inventory of reprints of rare Confederate books and Southern history books on the Internet - all at affordable prices.

Should Southerners Be Ashamed of Their Confederate Ancestors?

There was no surrender at Appomattox, and no withdrawal from the field which committed our people and their children to a heritage of shame and dishonor. No cowardice on any battlefield could be as base and shameful as the silent acquiescence in the scheme which was teaching the children in their homes and schools that the commercial value of slavery was the cause of the war, that prisoners of war held in the South were starved and treated with a barbarous inhumanity, that Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee were traitors to their country and false to their oaths, that the young men who left everything to resist invasion, and climbed the slopes of Gettysburg and died willingly on a hundred fields were rebels against a righteous government. - Rev. James Power Smith, last surviving member of Jackson's staff.
